Santa Fe, NM--Feng Shui expert Carol M. Olmstead offers tips to communities that want to invite wealth into their local economies.

As the greening of our homes and workplaces becomes a priority trend for our communities, Olmstead suggests surrounding yourself with the color green and involving yourself in other practices that invite the Feng Shui green “element” into your lifestyle.

Each color and shape in Feng Shui is called an “element” that symbolizes many things, Olmstead explains. For going Feng Shui green, she suggests you also add wooden objects, plants, and accent items that are rectangular.

Specifically, Olmstead offers these tips for placing the Feng Shui green element around you:

—Want to decrease negative energy? Place a plant within three feet of your computer and electrical equipment, especially in your office or home theater, to balance any negative energy.

—Trying to get your creative juices flowing? Add green accents like pillows, throws, and artwork to your home and office to create growth in your ideas.

—Writing a community grant, or need ideas to sell your home? Place a bushy green plant on your desk to stimulate continuing growth of your wealth.

—Need to create harmony in a tight local economy? At the next big community event serve dinner on a green tablecloth and use green cloth napkins.

—Want to attain more positive personal energy? Wear a green tie or scarf, clothes made from cotton, or floral patterns.

Olmstead, known as the Feng Shui Maven, offers tips like these and more in her newly-released book, “Feng Shui Quick Guide For Home and Office: Secrets For Attracting Wealth, Harmony and Love.” The book focuses on the practical applications of Feng Shui and includes a day-by-day calendar of tips.
