Weekend Overview

Registration includes all materials, training sessions, and field studies conducted by nationally-recognized Feng Shui expert Carol Olmstead. Carol is known for her unique, practical, and seasonal approach to Feng Shui. The Feng Shui Getaway Weekend begins on Friday with an evening margarita reception to welcome you to Santa Fe and to meet the other participants, plus an introduction to Feng Shui. Saturday starts with continental breakfast and includes training sessions, lunch with a guest speaker, guided field studies, art gallery tours, and afternoon tea. Sunday begins with continental breakfast and includes training sessions, practice consultations, and graduation reception.

WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

Day 1:
Arrive in Santa Fe and check into the historic La Fonda Hotel in the Santa Fe Plaza. Use your free time to explore shops, galleries, Native American jewelry vendors, dine at Santa Fe’s fine restaurants, enjoy discounted spa services, or simply relax.

Evening: “Margarita Reception” at La Fonda
Enjoy Southwestern style munchies and margaritas or soft drinks to welcome you to Santa Fe and the Land of Enchantment, as you meet other participants, hear an introduction to Feng Shui, get a preview of what is planned for the weekend, and other surprises. If you wish, after the reception you can sample one of Santa Fe’s wonderful restaurants.

Day 2:
Breakfast: Continental Breakfast at La Fonda included.

Morning: “Feng Shui For Real Life”
Learn the basics of Feng Shui and the Five Power Principles: Chi, the Five Elements, the Bagua, Yin and Yang, Connectedness and Continuity.

Refreshment Break

Mid-Morning: "Learn the Basics"
Continue learning the Five Power Principles and start to put what you have learned into practice. Bring a floor plan of your home, room, or office to analyze.

Lunch with Guest Speaker: "Rescuing Your Relationship With Your Stuff"

Afternoon: “You Are What You See”
Through Field Studies, you will see practical examples of what you have learned about Feng Shui. Session includes a guided tour of one of Santa Fe’s finest art galleries including a talk by the gallery owner, plus visits to other buildings to learn how art and decoration can be used in Feng Shui to attract wealth, harmony, and love. The group will tour one gallery, break into smaller groups to explore other galleries and buildings, then report back to the full group.

Late Afternoon: Small Group Reports
Small groups report back to full group on what you found visiting galleries and sites in Santa Fe during the Field Studies.
Afternoon Tea Included.

Dinner: On your own at one of Santa Fe’s fine restaurants.
Optional Independent Field Study: Explore the Feng Shui meaning of color, spice, and flavoring in food, and how restaurant décor affects your eating experience. Report back to the group at the next session on how your dining experience related to what you have learned in class.

Day 3:
Breakfast: Continental Breakfast at La Fonda included.

Morning: “Clutter Clinic”
Find out what clutter represents in Feng Shui and how to move it out of your life. Learn Carol’s 5-Step Clutter Clearing Process to rid yourself of clutter.

Refreshment Break

Mid-Morning: “Practice What You’ve Learned”
Report back on field studies. Hands-on practice, where you learn how to do a Feng Shui analysis of a space. Bring a floor plan of a home, room, office, or commercial space you want to analyze.

Lunch: On your own, sample Santa Fe’s varied cuisine.

Afternoon: “Wrap Up Session” and “Graduation”
Wrap up session with ample time for questions, then Graduation Ceremony. All graduates will receive Level 1 Certification from the Feng Shui For Real Life Institute, a special benefit package, and options for continuing your Feng Shui studies.

Late Afternoon: “Shop, Tour, Relax...Travel”
